My mission is to help adults in Texas regain control over their relationship with alcohol through the use of oral naltrexone, following approaches such as the Sinclair Method, “naltrexone as needed,” or targeted naltrexone.
Each patient determines their own goals—whether that’s reduced drinking, increased control, or complete abstinence. My work is inspired by personal experience and grounded in the belief that addiction often stems from underlying trauma and genetic predisposition. With over 30 years as a board-certified family physician, and additional board certifications in preventive and addiction medicine, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care that respects each individual’s journey toward healthier choices.

About Richard R Andrews MD MPH

Serving Adult Patients in All of Texas

Richard R Andrews MD MPH is a telehealth-only addiction medicine practice focusing on alcohol. We help adults throughout the great state of Texas. Board-certified in addiction medicine and family medicine, Richard Andrews, MD, treats individuals 18 and up who desire more control over their alcohol consumption.

We don't have a physical office. Instead, we evaluate you through a confidential telemedicine platform, so you can get to know the doctor without leaving home (or wherever you are in Texas). Dr. Andrews helps you manage your relationship with alcohol.

If you’re not ready to quit drinking completely Dr. Andrews offers a judgment-free space to try something different.  Have you heard of the Sinclair Method? This gradual approach uses naltrexone, an FDA-approved medication, to reduce the craving for alcohol. But you might not need to take it every day, just when you need it. It can be taken at specific times to slowly improve your relationship with alcohol and regain control.

Sometimes people have a better response with another medicine besides naltrexone, such as acamprosate or disulfiram. We explain all that and give you options.

If you’re ready to make changes in your drinking habits, Dr. Andrews has the expertise and evidence-based strategies to help. Schedule a telehealth appointment by clicking the online scheduler today.
